Dr. C. Dean Katsamakis, DO, FACC, FSCAI is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Katsamakis is a commerical pilot and completed his Aviation flight degree in 1993 from Southern Illinois University, and his Biology degree in 1995 from University of Iliinois at Chicago. He then completed his medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2000.
After medical school, Dr. Katsamakis completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2003 at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago. He went on to complete his Cardiology fellowship training at RUSH and served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Katsamakis then finshed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at RUSH in 2007. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Katsamakis has advanced training in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Imaging and is Board Certified by the
Certifying Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). Additionally, he is trainined to deal with all aspects of Interventional Cardiology including Angioplasty and stenting of the heart, legs and carotid arteries.
Dr. Katsamakis has many publications in peer reviewed journals and has participated in several medical trials throughout his career.
